Summer Space, Montague Street's annual pedestrian-plaza event, is taking place Sunday, September 9 & Sunday, September 23 – from 12 PM to 5 PM. On those days, Montague Street will be car-free between Clinton Street and Hicks Street.

BID businesses are encouraged to take part in Summer Space! Merchants can offer a range of promotions or sidewalk sales. See to the right for more details, or download a registration form:

BID Business Marketing Support

The BID will take out print and online ads to promote the event. The Brooklyn Heights Blog is also offering a special ad rate for Summer Space participants. Check back for details or contact the BID office at 718-522-3649 with any questions.

 

How BID Restaurants Can Participate

Here's how BID restaurants and other food-service establishments can take part:

Give out free samples. We expect a lot of visitors, particularly on Sept. 23 when the Brooklyn Book Festival is happening next door. We'll promote your participation in the Book Festival program.

Offer or expand outdoor café seating on either date.

Offer any other promotion - we'll help get the word out through our media partners, the Brooklyn Eagle and Brooklyn Heights Blog, and others.

How BID Retailers Can Participate

BID retail establishments can:

Hold an outdoor promotion. Use the sidewalk or street to give away items, host fun events, or otherwise promote your business.

Have a sidewalk sale. Display merchandise outside, then have shoppers go inside to buy.

Offer an in-store event – the BID will help get the word out.
